This is the list of properties I have found…it’s a start, albeit a basic one. It’s taking a while to sort through them, add the links etc, but I’m also finding more to add..so it may take longer than I hoped. I’ll try and add about 50 per month and will keep each separate page to 100, so page 1 will be 1 – 100. I’ve done 31/3000 so only 2969 left to sort out. Watch this space
I’ve realised I’ve got copy protection on the entire site, so the list has been converted to a Word file which you can download, and copy the details from. There are also links embedded in that file. This table hasn’t copied correctly for some reason and looks a bit strange..I will hopefully correct that, but the links do actually work.

It probably took me 15 minutes to look at all the various view that are available online. I don’t normally copy the pictures, but they show you what is available to be found.
With every list I shall probably put at least one property on with as much info as possible. If I have the information, you may as well have it.

This is quite a ruinous property with what appears to be the majority of both the Gable ends intact, however there is a small extension at the far end of the property which actually retains its roof.
Believe it or not this may have a huge bearing on whether the property can gain planning permission to be redeveloped.
Having a roof on part of the property indicates that it is not an incredibly long time since it was intact and in use so this may be an important factor.
The property is clearly shown on the 1905 map and appears to be quite a large building. It’s almost immediately adjacent to a good road, and you can see the entrance has clearly been rebuilt in recent times. The double gates you can see can be seen on historic street view photographs, but the most recent of these shows a track driving up to the road presumably so the rest of the land is accessible. This is also a matter for concern as farmers have an incredible tendency to see a building like this as a pile of rocks which they can simply smash down and use as hardcore. If this is done then the chances of getting planning diminishes dramatically.
A ruin in whatever condition always stands of vastly better chance of being redeveloped than if it has been completely swept away.
And this does happen quite frequently. Another property I looked at to add to this list had what looked like the original farmhouse. However this was abandoned and unroofed but was sitting on the edge of the remains of the farm which clearly continues to be used
That Ruin has now been swept away and there’s no indication of what is going to be built there.
I suspect a large steel frame shed will materialize at some point.
As I have pointed out before I believe farmers have very little sense of the potential value of even ruins on their property and simply see these as an inconvenience.
Oh, and the spectacular view. I can see it, so can you. The person who owns this is probably so used to it, they barely register it as being special.
So what can you do with this kind of stand pile of stones? Well councils in Wales are increasingly giving permission for the ruins of properties to be redeveloped. I have seen others with way less remaining than this getting planning to redevelop what in effect becomes a brand new house in a spectacular location sitting on a couple of acres.
In terms of ownership this Ruin actually sits on what appears to be a block of a couple of acres but as can be seen with the information I gathered the surrounding blocks of land all have the same characteristics and all appear to lead back to the same farm down in the village which suggests that they’re all in the same ownership. The fact that it is registered means that you can find out who the owner is and approach them if you want to. This is not property for adverse possession; it has an owner, and the land that surrounds it is clearly in use. However if you have resources and potentially deep pockets this could be spectacular location to build very interesting property

Every single property that I will be listing has been found by searching online mapping Google Maps, Google Earth and bing maps. Over the years I have visited as many properties as I can and have taken photographs etc but I have also frequently discovered that what appears to be abandoned does actually have signs of activity when you get there. In every single instance anybody who has an interest in any of these properties has to make their own inquiries, has to make a visit to the property themselves to satisfy themselves of its condition and has to be respectful of what may well be existing owners, and people still living in some of these properties.
